PWD will be sending a team of staff, board and members to conquer the 14km from Sydney CBD to Bondi Beach, on August 8 2010.
This is a fantastic opportunity raise the profile of PWD, raise some much-needed funds, create some awesome photos which we can later put up on our website, and just generally have a good time with your fellow disability rights advocates.
There are many ways in which YOU can be involved.
To do this, go to this page http://city2surf.com.au/default.asp?PageID=17826
Follow the “Enter Now” prompts until they ask “Are you registering as part of a Team?” Click “search for an existing team’ then type in “People with Disability Australia”.
Once you have selected PWD as your team, you will then be promoted to select your Category Type. Please select the “Back of Pack” start – this is for groups, people who wish to walk, people with prams, and anyone using a wheelchair.
After this you will be asked to complete the registration form. At the bottom of this form you are asked to select the charity that you support. Please select People with Disability Australia to ensure all money you raise goes towards PWD.
Please note there is a $60 registration fee for the event that PWD will not cover. This fee goes towards the organizers of City2Surf, so PWD will not be raise any funds from it.
In return for your entry fee you will receive:
- A chest bib
- A timing tag
- A finisher’s medal
- Public transport to and from the event, on event day
- Clothing bag transport from start to finish line
- Free water and Gatorade during the race
- The Sun-Herald newspaper (on race day, whilst stocks last)
- Free entertainment along the course and at the finish line
All participants will also receive a PWD T-shirt to wear in the event.
